Can I cancel the agreement at any time or is there a term agreement?

You may cancel the Star Web Pros SM agreement at any time. You are only responsible for the current month's fees (which are billed one month in advance.) Some optional services such as domain name service require a minimum of one year advance purchase. In this example you would retain the rights to the domain name for the remainder of the year even though the website would no longer be online.

Do I have to commit to a long-term plan in order to get the low price?

No. Our maintenance/hosting plans are paid month-to-month one month in advance (annual advance payments for maintenance receive a discount). Since the plans are paid one month in advance you will forfeit only up to one month of the monthly cost in the event of a cancellation. If you cancel your maintenance/hosting agreement, you will still retain the use of the domain name for the remainder of your one-year plan. In the event of a cancellation of a plan that is paid annually in advance you would receive a pro rated credit for the unused portion of the agreement.

Is there a discount for non-profit organizations?

Yes. We have a 10% discount for 501c3 organizations. The 501c3 certificate is required in order to receive the discount.

Technical Questions

Do I need to have Cross-Browser compatibility on my website?

Yes. Different web browsers have different capabilities to display the various code languages used by website designers and developers. In order to maximize the potential user's ability to experience your website, the site must be prepared to display all of the major browser brands and versions. This does require additional time and effort on the part of the web designer, but the end result is that more customers for your business will see more of your website.

What is SEO and why do I need it?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO refers to the efforts of the web designer in editing website content and HTML coding to increase the relevance to specific keywords used by potential web queries and efforts to remover barriers to the indexing activities of search engines such as interactive website programs. The goal of the optimization is to improve the search rank of the website and therefore improve website traffic.
